I currently checked this book out of my school library, and I thought it was pretty good. I'm really interested in snakes, and herpetology, so this was a perfect choice.

Hello, Bruce, from one of the many hundreds of grateful folks to whom you have introduced the marvels of herpetiles, both in the field, and now, in this wonderfully written book. My husband and I have both enjoyed "Serpent". I know it is "right out of your heart", and indeed, it does succeed in communicating the excitement of science and the beauty of discovery. You have a gift for doing so, and it has changed our lives. Thank you, and the best of holiday wishes for you, Kathy, and family.

I read this book last month and really enjoyed it. Dr. Means is a great story teller and you really get the sense of how he felt in the moment. A great read for fans of herps and those who like to read in the popular science genre.
