  • I loved this tutorial! I'm going to make one for my girlfriend and she is going to LOVE it! Thanks.

  • @penelopenorman I am sure your girlfriend will like it. These books make for a great gift.

  • Where did you learn how to do this?

  • @janmarinilashes I took a bookbinding class in college.

  • nice video, easy and helpful, but i dont get something - the back of the book looked untidy and badly finished, nothing like the front - is it supposed to look like that??? i thought both sides should look the same, and be presentable whichever way u look at the book...?

  • @safi456 The back looks exactly like the front, the ribbon may have just been twisted on the back. You can easily take the time to make sure the ribbon is untwisted on both sides or let it twist as it will, whichever look you prefer.

  • This is amazing, just finished a casual book of drawings for uni, hope this impresses the tutor!

  • Wow. I'm going to try this. Question. What is the maximum number of text block pages that you recommend to be done with this binding technique? Thanks again.

  • A good idea if you want to hide the knot is start the stitch not from the back cover, but just inside the back cover. Then, when you get to the end, you thread the needle through the back cover so both ends of the thread/ribbon are between the last page and the back cover. Thus, when you tie the knot, it's hidden inside the book. It might not work as well with ribbon if it's too thick, but if you're using thread to bind, it works well, and it just looks much neater.

  • Wonderful tutorial. Needed a refresher as I got taught this in my first year of Graphic Communication. Thank you.

  • aww i wanted to see her flip through the finished book.

  • thanks!!
