  • I think instead of cornstarch to thicken the flour I would use arrow root because it keeps the liquid more translucent and its original color and doesn't add a cloudy dimension from the white color of the cornstarch. but they look cute like pears you would see painted. my grandfather made this type of pear alot but he baked it in the oven with Sherry and spices.
