Oh what memories!

At the end of the day (spacepatrolman), this is my favourite rendition of this song... As I've previously commented, this was the version that they played on the radio in Australia, that I grew up with, and prefer, as it has "a brighter & breezier feel to it"....

Nice version. In NY the "hit" version was by the Critters. Both are excellent!

This is by far, THE suoperior version, from The Summer of '66, & here in LA, on Boss Radio KHJ 930 AM, it WAS a hit! What a summer it was!. I was 19 y/o, & Pet Sounds was THE album OF ALL-TIME, that summer/ fall. This, & " Elusive Butterfly" are 2 of my Favorites from those days. Wolfsky9, 65 y/o.

Yes, I played acoustic guitar on this recording and sang back up along with Glen Campbell. Glen also played the wonderful, lead guitar comp that you hear. Randy Thomas sang the lead on our version of this song. Randy has a 'great' voice as well as being an amazing keyboard player. Randy could play any rock concert then turn around and play and sing in any piano bar anywhere in the country. Al Ferguson lead guitar/ Hondells

Early on, I thought I kind of heard that old Buffalo Springfield "country western" guitar work. Anybody else hear that?

Weak version compared to john sebastian no auto harp and john is a better singer
My favourite version. (The one that they played on the radio all those years ago in Australia)

Finally heard John Seb's version, as well as the Critters, etc.....they're ok, but I feel that this (The Hondells) version has a brighter and breezier "feel" to it......Definately my favourite version..
