These big headed ants were found in the Guinea Savannah in Ghana, Africa. The soldiers have large heads to make room for jaw muscles so that they can bite HARD.

  • At first I'm like, "OMG THE GROUND IS MOVING!" but then I'm like, "Oh."

  • remind me of jews

  • they look funny...

  • These ants are Messor galla.

  • Thats actully the ant motioners, they are about 4 times larger then the normal ant race and colony they are in because they are used for "tank" ants in fighting and are able to haul a dozen normal ants at once to many places over a long period of time.

  • This soecies of ant has been introduced to the south of the US.

I actually have a colony that i just captured and have in an aquarium in my room.

I feed them ham and candy.

They are really cool, but VERY aggressive to other ants

  • i saw some type of ant i think i don't know somewhere in dallas, it looked like it had 2 heads, the sides almost looked the same.

  • maybe is pheidole becouse i cant see so much good .i think is messor becouse have a red head but can be pheidole too. if is big, its messor ;if is litle, is pheidole.

  • Those definatly are pheidole not messor.

  • i luv how the ants use things around them to make a home :)
