The North Pole Marathon takes place at the Geographic North Pole each year. The race is known as the world's coolest marathon, though temperatures in 2010 were relatively mild compared the the previous year's -37C. However, Dutchman Joep Rozendal kept his cool to take the men's title while Emer Dooley of Ireland won the women's race. Strong winds were the feature of the 2010 event.
