http://lasikcomplications.com/vitreoretinal_damage.htm Many patients report increased floaters (posterior vitreous detachment) after LASIK. Vacuum by the microkeratome suction ring increases intraocular pressure and places stress on the vitreous and retina.

  • Would you do LASIK if you knew the TRUE SUCCESS RATES?

1st Year Post LASIK: 88% success rates.

2nd Year Post LASIK: 65% success rates.

3rd Year Post LASIK: 50% success rates.

4th Year Post LASIK: 45% success rates.

5th Year Post LASIK: 40% success rates.

6th Year Post LASIK: 40% success rates.

7th+Year Post LASIK: Below 40%success rate.

Will you be one of the "lucky ones" that can last 10+ years without contacts or glasses?

  • LASIK was the worst decision of my life, it felt like a thousand needles sticking my eyes. They market it like it's painless but it's not. The suction ring felt like it pulled my eyes out of their socket. LASIK promotes permanent conditions with no cure:

    -Dry Eye Syndrome

    -Double Vision

    -Night Halos/Starbursts

    -Depression

    -Loss of Visual Acuity

    -Accelerated Aging of the Eye

    -Lack of Natural Tear Production

-Each Year Post LASIK Vision Gets Progressively Worse

    -Cell Tissue Mutation

  • Having many of these symptoms (from eye disease, not LASIK), I've come across way too many people reporting these issues after laser correction surgery. Stay clear.

  • I had LASIK three years ago and now have floaters in both eyes and a cataract in my right eye. ALso have dry eyes (so the doc says) but it is not bothersome anymore. I regret getting LASIK. WIsh someone would have told me that I would go from wearing glasses to preferring to see in a very low light room. I am nurse and a musician and really rely on my vision! I wish I never had LASIK

  • i had prk and i have the worst floaters as a result. black dots, cobwebs, garbage EVERYWHERE. my eyes are wrecked. don't get laser eye surgery!

  • yup I'm another victim of laser eye surgery. I had prk and it has ruined my life.

  • DITTO! The dry eyes are the most painful thing to deal with. Nothing helps. Have used Restasis, punctal occlusion, and now flaxseed oil twice a day. None with any great effects on the dryness and corneal erosion. I HATE LASIK!

  • I am a LASIK surgeon. I won't deny that the distortion of the eye with a microkeratome may induce floaters, especially with nearsightedness. I am also one of just three doctors in the US specializing in the treatment of vitreous floaters. I'll post a "video response" for anyone interested.
