You are either american or israeli. You cannot serve 2 masters. If he chooses to serve israeli interests over than the interests of the country he swore allegiance too then he is rightly punished. By rights he should be executed. Ever thus to spys and traitors.

@aaronharms123456 "By rights" he should not be executed. People convicted of the crime he was convicted of usually serve 2 to 4 years. He has served 25 years. "By rights" he should have been freed at least 20 years ago. The former Assistant Secretary of State, Lawrence Korb, who served in the years of Pollard's arrest, recently wrote to President Obama that the reason for Pollard's disproportionate sentence was Weinberger's hatred for Israel. That's called racism, not justice, Aaron.

As a Jew and a retired US Navy officer, I have nothing but contempt for someone who forgot his oath to "...protect and defend". Israel used the information he gave them to get Jews out of the Soviet Union and, while a noble undertaking, sold out the US. Pollard can rot in jail.

@tobias5jun People who have had access to Pollard's file (like the former head of the CIA) claim that Pollard provided nothing to the Soviet Union or about the Soviet Union. listen, I'm a professional musician, and I'm really offended when someone hits a wrong note. Still, I don't advocate taking off their arms for their mistake. That's what they are doing to Pollard. The punishment is the issue, not the crime. The punishment is unfair and all of the insiders are now admitting it.

@tobias5jun "Weinberger's contention has been debunked. Information that Pollard gave to Israel did not make its way to the USSR. Instead, the information that the Soviets received during the 18 months Pollard was spying for Israel most likely came from Ames and Robert Hanssen, a onetime FBI agent who spied for the USSR and Russia from 1979 to 2001."
