The cheese worked, people liked the comeback story of Chrysler and Lee they bought a lot of Chryslers in the 80's. The K-Cars were darn solid cars if you were on a budget. T

Iacocca is a marketing genius. Chrysler LLC should be begging him back for commercial appearances.

Chrysler made a loss on these cars, which is true of most cars in the class.

I love the sundance animation that looks like it came from a 1980s computer game

@CoffeeSquib I have a Chrysler, still and it runs great.

The Sundance/Shadow twins were much better cars than the Neon, in my opinion, for their build quality was better, and they were more reliable, too.

@tarzan694 that's true now, but chrysler was good in the 80's

@webmanc Uh for the LH Cars I had a Dodge Intrepid which is one of the LH cars and it wasn't bad.

i love that front end i wish my shadow had it
Iacocca saved Chrysler from bankruptcy through his procurement of government loans. With this capital he brought to market the "K" car along with all its derivatives, including the Sundance / Shadow series. If it wasn't for Lee Iacocca, Chrysler would have been merely a chapter in automotive history.

And this era of K-car Chryslers has been the most dependable Chryslers of the past 25 or so years! "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." Of course they did, and Chrysler reliability has been awful ever since.

So true. The K-cars were inexpensive to buy, easy to service, and comfortable to drive. Chrysler had a good thing going, but their '90s era management spoiled everything with the poorly engineered Neon and quality deficient "LH" series. Hopefully the new Chrysler will turn things around, but if not the Chinese will be here in a few years with reliable, low-cost vehicles.
