  • My old JRT was exactly like that, she was obsessed with lots of things!! ball, frisbee, water. She was a funny smart dog, that could escape from anything!

  • She is 5 yrs apx. I got her at about a year old, which is when this was done. She is a rescue but definitely a full breed jack russell. There are always great JRT's that are up for adoption, but they always look very different: short hair, wire hair, longer legs, shorter legs. Difficult to tell when they are pups. They shed quite a bit so prepare yourself for that, but very smart and typically easy to train for tricks, but need obedience because they will try to take advantage of you!

  • Your dog is so smart ...

I might be getting a jack russell for chrismas ....

so im trying to find out as much as i can about them ...

do you have any tips for me ??

because i'v read that it is good to start training them when they are puppies

  • I would say the best place to go is the JRTwebsite, you can google it. Also , I would say before you get a puppy to seriously consider rescuing a JRT. You save a dog, plus they are already housebroken and you know what they are going to look like! Dotty is the best!

  • haha nice, mine wont roll over ive been trying for ages, she'll do all the other basic tricks. any tips?

  • sure, start with lay down and get that command down really well, then roll them over physically yourself and lots of praise with treats. For some reason if they are already laying down it is much easier to get them to rollover??

  • my JRT Bridget is an asshole and won't listen to anything I tell her. She's too cute to shave her paw, but she owns the world.

  • @myhorsesrocktheshow My girl is like that too. Especially soccer/basketballs.....she'll play with those for hours. Neighborhood kids love her because they can kick and roll the ball forever and she'll never get tired.

    Jacks are awesome.
