Ever hear the expression "go play on the freeway"? Well we did!

California's State Route 56 is a highway that started construction in the 80's, and as of 2002 when the video was, made was yet to be completed. The eastern end was completed in 1993 and the western end was completed in 1994, but there was still a 4 mile gap in between.

Construction had been delayed due to a string of lawsuits and political fiascos, and tax dollars continue to be wasted as these issues went unresolved.

Rather than wait for this thing to be completed, we decided it was time for us to get some use out of our tax dollars that were poured into this freeway and have a picnic on it before it opened.

Though the road is now open, as of 2008 it still does not directly connect with I-5 or I-15, the two freeways it is designed to run between.
