Hans, you're a delight to listen to, imo, but your conclusion is wrong. If it were right then we wouldn't have a growing wealth gap and steady or growing extreme poverty. Please go back to the drawing board and look at the wealth gap and the persistence of hunger rather than looking at average numbers from nations. India for example has terrible poverty still but the wealth gap corresponds with higher averages and the illusion of improvement because the poorest can not get poorer.

    Kind regards,

Interesting, but we've one important question: how poor people get rich in the future?!

If I may jump in, I think he missed out on one piece of information; if you read his papers on economic medicine, he admits that though one day what we would define as the poverty line is not being able to buy a washing machine the richest will be in personal space ships. I think he means people will one day live more and more decent lives as technology soaks into the world fabric. You're not alone in finding him overly optimistic, but try his other videos, and be surprised!

The wealth gap is growing but the amount of people is poverty is lessening. You have to remember that as the world develops into new inevitable stages, the current definition of poverty will eventually decays and many will be living like the West does. Globalization of infrastructure, medicine, and education will pull these countries out of poverty. Also the growing wealth gap isn't everywhere. Many up and coming nations have strong middle class growth. Developed ones are seeing theirs die

That was horrible and I have no clue how he could look at the world around him and be content with his conclusion. I hope he redeemed himself for this somehow. I have heard that this man says great things, but this has just discouraged me from really finding out tonight.

Does he do this everywhere he goes? Buying rocks of cocaine? In the queue at McDonalds using fries to represent data? :D

What about the millions of people who don't even have three square meals a day? Will they be busy saving "money" to buy shoes? Where these stats came from? I bet they are wrong. I am not in any one of those categories.
