  • my god, come on, this is no mozart baby which you have to handle with silk-gloves....this is as broing as hell and she didn't understand ANYTHING of this kind of music!!!!

  • @jghamm For my taste it sounds wonderful! She did play it 1 week ago in Milano with great success! What I can't understand is the fact that your reaction is so nervous! It looks as if you feel personally insulted. Anyway I would like to see your own master recording of that piece.

  • A superb performance in musical and instrumental sense by a great violinist. If somebody doubts that a Rimski-Korsakov descendant does not feel Russian/Soviet music, I have to call that person's hearing ability into question.

  • Beautiful. Fortunately I was present at this performance and it was far greater than this video can realize. Natasha is one of the great violinists of her time and deserves greater recognition. There are problems with the orchestration of this Composition and it is easy for the orchestra, which is very excited here, to overpower the soloist.

  • Natasha captures the inner neurosis of Shostakovich's music. The performance is lively, energetic, but also deliciously neurotic. She gets it.

  • @jghamm wow!

  • this is fabulous playing on the highest of all levels. you cannot compare her to anyone!

  • Musically and technically very strong performance. Bravissimo also Maestro Francis and the orchestra!

  • This is wonderful playing. Mozart does not always have to be charming and sweet. And Shostakovich need not always be fierce and aggressive. One very important factor that's not being taken into account is the hall's acoustics. I have played in dozens of different concert halls in the U.S, in Mexico, and Europe - believe me, what sounds harsh, edgy, and immediate in one hall can sound downright mellow and subdued in another.
