@SingingDivaPrincess Its not because of their race. Its because they are lookin for a more earthy voice not whispy. Don't always think its because of our race.

In the Broadway show. In the movie Scar is played by a white guy, as is Simba and Nala and Timon and Pumba and Ed and a number of other characters. Mufasa and Shenzi are played by African Americans, Bonzai is played by a Mexican American.
Though I think this show was also done in Korea and in Korea there aren't exactly any black people unless some actors traveled to Korea.

Scar is usually played by a white guy, while everybody else is black.

Didn't this show also play in Korea, and the people there aren't "black."

Do you plan to make your broadway debut soon? Because you're definately good enough to be on Broadway!!!!
Why do you say you can't do it because you're not "black"? The guy who played Scar in the musical wasn't "black"?

Traditionally, Nala is black. I have heard of some women auditioning who are white and very capable of performing the role and are turned away because they just don't "fit" the type-cast (their skin color). It's Theatre. No biggie though...I can still sing the music! :D
