JMU Be The Change - Striking Gold

Could a college experience include the opportunity to research and discover a scientific breakthrough for a multitude of industries from biomedicine to computer chip manufacturers? It happened in JMU's Research Experience for Undergraduates program when student research was successful in getting gold film to adhere to plastics. The discovery has led to a provisional patent application filing for the process. Hands-on research, professor-student collaboration, cross-disciplinary opportunities — all part of the Madison Experience.
