Fundy Christmas

The lengths some people will go to give their God a free pass is demonstrated in this Christmas letter sent out by the Fundagelical family this year. BTW this is a satire but if you ever watch the news you have heard this type dialog proclaimed after every disaster or tragedy by some religious knuckle head.

That's hilarious, (because it's true), and sad, (also because it's true). I've heard so many people say stuff like that, ("I'm blessed", "God's just testing me to make me stronger", "I just need to have faith", etc..). If any one of us walked up to a good psychologist and said that we believe in an invisible "friend" that made us and knew what we would do, but will kill us and torture/punish us for being bad or not giving everything to him, we would be committed. Religion or mental instability?

As a satire, the letter was funny, especially harry potter book burning, which is tastefully irreverent toward Christian extremism. I'm shocked by the strong adversion to God expressed by comments on this video. It's a reasonable decision to trust a God who built a perfect planet for us to do with as we like.

Before I get a bunch of petty complaints, remember: your life could be much worse, if humans were capable, we would have managed to divert the orbit of earth into the sun.
