Gameplay from Chuckie Egg by A&F Software playing on the Acorn Electron vintage home computer. Retro Gaming.

This is not a review, walkthrough, playthrough, or demonstration of my playing ability.
It's simply a quick demonstration of the game so that anyone not familiar with these old games can see what it looks like.
It's also here so that I can embed it, along with most of the games in my collection, on my website (see link above).

Any opinions or comments I make regarding these games should largely be taken with a pinch of salt.
They are usually based on my first impressions after a very brief play.

  • @cmdfarsight which is testament to how much I loved this game. Many wasted hours on this.............well actually not wasted at all cos I thoroughly loved it.

  • I was a real saddo when it came to this game - I'd set players for 4 and play through as each one to see which one of me could get the furthest lol

  • This is my favourite game for the Beeb. It's not the best graphics in the world (or even for the Beeb) but that's not important. It's simple, fun and, despite being hugely frustrating, incredibly addictive! The only difference between this one and the Beeb version is the sound (by necessity). Yes, other consoles and computers had versions with better graphics, sound, etc, but here they've taken basic graphics and made them look wonderful! I just love it!

  • Thanks for uploading this video, really enjoyed it. When I was a kid my friend owned this for his Electron and four of used to have competitions with each other for best scores. For me I feel that the Acorn Electron version was the best. Brings back so many fond memories seeing this again, thanks again.

  • This is a hyperactive little game, running around like a maniac, making crazy suicidal jumps, swinging off the bottom of the ladders, getting trapped by the duck in a corner and risking making a run under it or jumping over it, so much fun. Or the tension of the lifts you've got to get off before they reach the top and crush you, but will your exit be clear?

I remember years ago my parents' friends fascinated watching me play this for hours one morning having stayed over after a party.

  • Sure looks like him!

  • AH this brings back memorys. We used to play this all the time at high school on the bbc's :)

  • touche, someone already noticed! the resemblance is identical!

  • hey, it's the guy from miner2049'er!

  • It looks and sounds like the main character is also starring in manic miner 2049. At least you can fall without dying right away. In some of these old games you will die after falling from 1mm!
