@blown22 Haha....I actully saw Uncle Fester (Jackie Coogan-who way back when was a HUGE child star btw) in '65 at this western movie location outside of Tucson called "Old Tucson". They did some kind of show live for us....it was cool as hell. I remember part of the gig was he spit into this big old iron pot, and it exploded upwards in all this fake smoke-like stuff... pretty cool to a 11 yr. old kid. RIP Uncle Fester

As a fellow musician.....their simplistic approach is so grinding,,,,,,,so emotionally evocating....behind a wall of sleep......covered with blood ....and roses......LOL....I and my song normally play more technical stuff but coming back to the basics exhilarates the blood! The Smithereens were not fully recognized for their true worth!

LOL...talking about looks....I used to have a WICKED CRUSH on Pat way back in the early 90's. Yes, I always preferred guys with unconventional looks anyway. There was just something REAL and different about his face. I just can't put it into words. Attraction is undefinable, really.

This was an unforgettable song. If they would have featured a beautiful girl or girls that they were dreaming about, this song would have definitely done alot better! Great song- poor video marketing!

I can not believe that people are arguing about looks on a video of a great song here let me help you. The Smithereens were a victim of the times. They did get there just due during the alt boom of the late 80's along with the church and midnight oil but did not gain the success of REM and U2 but they did have a platinum record which is a very good accomplishment
