Non native animals are a great thing for those who know whats REALLY going on and know how to take advantage of the situaion.The mongoose "problem" in Hawaii for example.What you don't hear is that native people used the puff of colored feathers found on the birds to make the capes for their leaders.Given their small,size it would take thousands of birds to create one. The pythons are used as a scapegoats as well.Man had aleady choked it off the Everglades long before the snake was there.

Instead of a short-term competition, they could just offer a bounty on them. Of course the bounty would need to be less than it would cost to buy or breed your own.
