Technosoft's Hyper Duel for Sega Saturn, 1996 port from arcade. Sideways scrolling shoot em up featuring ship/mecha option, solid gameplay, decent music/SFX and pretty decent graphics. Probably not the best shmup for the system, but not to far off, especially if you like your actions sideways. A bit like a hyped up version of Forgotton Worlds. Expect to pay around $200 or even more though. This is RARE..

  • Matt, entertaining as ever. I can understand you saying "go mecha" as this is fine and dandy but did you really mean to say "you can go two up" !!!! Bloody hell :D

I tend to play as the red robot as it's more balanced.

You are the only other person I know who owns this game on the Saturn.

    How rare is this game?

  • @MintythecatIsABeast hey, Minty! Think I agree the robot mecha is a better bet for most scenes in the game. With a price tag of about £120 it's about the most expensive Saturn shooter out there, which kind of suggests its rarity. Mind you like most games there's always a copy or two on ebay!!

  • FutureMatt - you have some great taste dude! Tell me, what are you using to get that nice picture? I use S-Video and its clear but a bit TOO clear if you know what I mean? I have the same issue with my Consolised MVS.. Is that RGB you are using? If so, what kind of TV is it on? Thanks..

  • @andy7666 hey! Yup, I use RGB Scart which is standard in the UK. You get the best picture down from component I think. It's clearer in theory than S-video I believe, though I've never seen an S-Video picture! I'm using a Sony Trinitron 16:9 CRT TV in this vid, though in my others I use my HDTV. If a machine was designed in standard definition most people agree the pic looks better on a SDTV. Yeah, you're right about Souky it's a brilliant game!!

  • Not even the Americans are safe! Nice, had a little flutter on eBay for a copy of this not so long ago. Didn't win mind, but thought I'd share that anyway!

  • @alexgameroom share away mate! Have you ever put in a bid for Blast Wind though>? I let a damn copy escape me a couple of months back for about £65. One of several auctions I lost by - forgetting to bid before the auction ended....duh. Like the knock-off copy of Sapphire that went for £60....same story.

  • I've seen this game in Japan for 600 bucks dude! just crazy

  • I might actually have a chance at getting this. I'm selling off some pricey items. If I hit around $200 US I may give this a go.

  • Great vid Matt. This game is the next on my list, although it may take a while to find a decent priced one.
