Ernie recalls how confusing it was for him when the Detroit Tigers organization first changed their stadium from Briggs Stadium to Tigers Stadium. Norm Cash and George Kell are also mentioned as some of Ernie's favorite Tigers legends.

  • There are two ways to look at it. Yes, the audio is terrible. The flip side is: if you or anyone has a better copy, post it or help us find it. Otherwise, appreciate it for what it is: a late life short broadcast of him. I'll take this poor quality recording over no recording at all.

  • My father lived in Detroit from 1934 to 1971, and he always referred to the place as "Briggs Stadium." Indeed, that was its name from 1938 to 1961, so old habits die hard.
