I agree 100%! High school, and, more so, University education, will certainly get people out of poverty. I just hope that in Jordan, honor crimes perpetrators will be severely punished by the judicial system. In Western Europe, and in North America, when a person kills, that person will be in jail far longer than 6 months. In Western Europe and in North America, we spend money our pets and ice-cream, but we also donate to charity, food bank to help feed the poor, volunteer, etc.

Our heads of state agree that most of us are raised, educated, and socialized to strongly believe that no one has the right to kill a person, or use violence to solve problems. When people do, our police arrest them, our legal- judicial-court system punishes them severely. Theres no excuse for killings. I doubt honor killings will end in Jordan. I want to be proven wrong! So one interpretation is there, and I didn't double check it. (My Koran makes absolutely no sense to me and I can't find shit in it.)

That verse right there is widely interpreted by Protestants, starting with Calvin, as referring to the Pope, and it still has a nice ring to it. A true Calvinist can give a Muslim a run for his money in terms of fatalism; but that aspect probably goes back further (Norse - Odin?).
