This is a song from the Windham Hill Guitar Sampler... until last week I didn't know there was a collection of tabs available for some of the songs. This one is my favorite from the album... a few flubs in it (of course), but I'm just happy I can play it now :) E-A-D-E-A-E tuning, down 1/2 step.

  • Great job bud. This is one of those that I can't remember how I actually learned it. I feel like if I had to again I wouldn't be able to y'know, like it just exists in my head subconsciously. Really good playing, beautiful song.

  • Thanks... I can appreciate that feeling as well, but for me it's even more with classical piano music. Lots of things in the "how on Earth did I play that" category...

  • very well played. I especially like the way you played the bass notes at 4.15. I've just learnt this song and you make it look quite easy.

  • Thanks! Best of luck with learning it; it's one of the most relaxing songs I know how to play, it's worth the practice time. :)

  • An impressive performance, who wouldn't be happy playing this one :). I learned it myself some time back mostly for the part from 17-24 seconds, I love the open sound.

  • Thank you very much! I like the part from 1:45-2:00 best myself, which has a similar phrase to the one you pointed out in it...

  • Excellent performance. Well done. I think this is my favorite Ed Gerhard piece. Ed has a way of making some of his compositions very haunting. 'Howl' is a another good example. I bought the Windam Hill Sampler book at one Ed's concerts a few years ago. Got to meet him and he signed the book for me. Very gracious guy. Check out his website.

  • Very warm.

  • Thank you!

Beautiful, and inspiring. I am going to get my guitar.

  • You are playing a song from my favorite CD! You did a great job on a beautiful song!

  • this is a very beautiful song, and very beautifully played mate. it looks like it takes a lot of practice, like you said. would you please be able to send me tabs for this song, i'd really like to learn it as well.
