I connected my cell phone to my laptop and made the cellphone act as a web cam. Then I started a web cam software software on my laptop, to see what the camera(cellphone) is capturing. While everything else seems to be working right with this webcam arrangement, but when this web cam tries to view/capture the webcam software (cheese on Ubuntu 9.04) window, there is something spooky that happens. There are apparently like infinite images of the webcam software window, at successive distances. Interference - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interference
Most cameras hooked to TVs and computers will do this. Its how they did something for the old show dr who. if you aim a camera thats hooked to a TV and aim it at that TV you will get this same feedback effect. its equivalent to the howling feedback on a PA system but its video not audio.
