@hicsumfabulalepus I am sorry to hear that and increase your intake of Vitamin D maybe? Flaxseed oil is a good source of omega 3 & 6 but the best way is to always get advice from a professional nutritionist who can at no charge usually advise you in a local community centre. May I suggest watching Earthlings or Gary Yourofsky here on youtube or visit beautiful-vegan . com She has tons of vegan recipes which are really yummy suprisingly since they contain no animal products.
@emmijadeable On a lighter note the one thing I have always wanted to do is to race my car through a hunt gathering with my horn blaring. Only the fact that I'd scare the horses and dogs stops me. :)
@emmijadeable And so will I be glad to see the end of testing on animals. It tears me apart to think of it, but hopefully it'll be a dark part of our history like the medicines of old. Until then I really have to put it to the back of my mind or stop giving my daughter the medicine that keeps her ticking along. And while I can stomach being guilty of animal pain I can't stomach hurting my daughter when the pain relief in available. It's a sad world we live in. But I hope life treats you well.
@emmijadeable Again I agree with you, two sides to every coin though. I can't back these people who attack scientists and their research. If these people really want to do good they should go to China and bomb the cat and dogs farms over there. Or Romania where men rape dogs. Then I would stand and salute these people and call them heros. That's where the real work needs to be done. But I can't condone research violence because I use that research; and god help them when they will do too.
@emmijadeable No, I agree with you, animals shouldn't be the answer to research, but for the time being they are and they have been for some of those 100 years. CJD comes to mind when you said about it's what they give to animals that make us sick and I agree with you.
@emmijadeable You are lucky, very lucky, I just hope that it continues for you. We have similar lifestyles, all of the above except I still have dairy products and eggs. I'm not nearly as healthy as you are though and have a low immune system that nothing seems to boost. I think it might be genetics though as well as low immune systems are a common factor in my family.
@hicsumfabulalepus I really believe that diet and exercise have everything to do with maintaining a healthy long life but in some cases sadly, some people are born with diseases that are life threatening but animals shouldn't be the answer to every medical cure and I think if you think about it, medical research has come a long way in the last 100 years. Most diseases today are caused from the antibitotics and hormones that animals are given before they are slaughtered and reach the consumer.
@hicsumfabulalepus I think here common sense would prevail, I have neices and nephews and of course I wouldn't deny them being operated on for their limbs. No, if your life depended on it of course not that would be insane to refuse yourself or anyone else life saving medicine. I'm against tobacco companies that test on animals for their findings which only make people sick with diseases anyway and then science has to try and figure out how to keep people alive from cancers caused by tobacco.
@hicsumfabulalepus you are very welcome and I wish the same to you, your daughter and family also XD
