the go+play is an incredible device. Batery powered (with standard and cheap batterys or accus unlike the bose).
the tonal balance is perfect. At first it seemed to me to have too much bass, but after hearing many recordings of all type of music (jazz, rock, classical,...) my conclusion is that some producers and sond ingeeniers simply put excesive basses in recordings.
do you want more basses?
may be you have some hearing disease ;-)

i have this and bose sounddock portable they are both good.
choise bose if you want to run from batteries.
and harman kardon go play from ac cable.

altec lansing have more bass but not the same sound quality. and the
harman kardon go play gets louder
