  • Thank you for the demo with the closeup.

  • @dianaclarke You are so welcome! :)

  • thank you for not being a perfectionest....I am in the middle of making a quilt...beating myself up all the way thru.........I decided to forget about everything not being perfect....IT IS A QUILT......people look at the overall....not what we see when making it......things went so much better after that..

  • @fantastic297 HURRAY for YOU!! I swear I want to start a MOVEMENT called "It's just a quilt - no rules - no squeeking perfectionism!" Hehehehehe :) Here's my bottom line - if I *finish* it, and it keeps someone warm, it's PERFECT. Congratulations to you for being a Finisher and not a perfectionist ~~ Marguerita :)

  • thanks for making this simple. I never thought of using decorative stitches for the binding, which I love. what was the width of your binding strips

  • @MsGordot ~ I use a 2 and 1/2" binding and I cut it on the straight of grain. I don't like the traditional bias cut binding and I prefer wider than the traditional 2 and 1/4" width. We machine sew our bindings to the back of the quilt (opposite of a traditional binding) and then machine sew with the decorative stitches to the front. Use a very wide seam allowance on the back in order to get the top and back to match up, and don't worry about slight imperfections where they don't match up :)

  • I really love your video. I'm mildly interested in quilting, but this is how I like to do the edge of my reversible nursing covers now. :) Now I know how to do it better than before.

  • thanks, your awsome! my first more difficult quilt (on my bed) had LOADS of imperfections, including puckers, and the average eye looks at it and is impressed, even after i tell them how many amature things there are about it... still picking threads off here and there after months! haha GETERDONE!

  • @quilterstitch Thank you so very much for your post - you have no idea how much it means to me!! I am most definitely not a perfectionist ~ my motto is "Done is better than Perfect" and I follow it every day. My first "quilt teacher" was rude and obnoxious (I talk about that in my 'Vid Response to Margaret" video and I know how much that hurts, and yet I hear the same horror stories from lots of quilters! Hurray for innovators, creators and "imperfectionists"!!

  • Thank you for NOT being a perfectionist! It is helpful for so many beginners to know they can proceed without criticism. Unfortunately, many people are afraid to try being creative because of perfectionist teachers or parents. It is what so many find is motivational in their lives. I have enjoyed all of your Videos, the first being about the ergonomics & home-made table you built for your machine. Bravo!
