Northeast Ohio volunteers have "stepped up to the plate" and volunteered through the
Cleveland Indians Volunteer Challenge! Through a unique partnership between the Cleveland Indians and Business Volunteers Unlimited (BVU), volunteers performed 26,376 hours of service in the Northeast Ohio community. Based on Independent Sector's value of a volunteer hour, these volunteers contributed $530,949 of
service to local nonprofits!

Doris A. Behnke volunteered 490 hours with American Cancer Society between April 1, 2010 and August 31, 2010 and she has been named the Cleveland Indians Volunteer of the Year for 2010. Doris was honored on Thursday, September 16 at a special pregame ceremony at Progressive Field prior to the Indians vs. LA Angels 7:05p.m. game and
threw out the ceremonial first pitch.
