Well, being usable away from an outlet or TV is kind of the point of a portable in the first place. @VikutaaChyaaruzu

Still though, they last 5 hours, which is longer than all but two of the road trips I have ever been on in my life. And that is WITHOUT taking into account the option of bringing spare batteries.

You're right.

Sega would later add two power-extending accessories to the Game Gear: the Battery Pack and the Power Battery. The Battery Pack allowed a couple extra AA batteries into the system. The Power Battery was a large rechargeable battery that actually attached to the back of the Game Gear, further extending the system's life away from the wall wart.

dont believe? look at sonic games for ds and gamecube and wii -.-

get over with it,sega failed even if it had sega genesis wich had awesome games,so now they make stupid games(like sonic hero,and sonic the hedgehog for xbox)
