Yeah the bbc radio wales people discussed the 17,000 vacant properties in wales that the county councils are allowed to take over given certain conditions. I think that this one meets the criteria. But I have a feeling that they will probably knock it down in order to build flats on the land and make more per square metre from it than they would as it is.
spelling mistake compulsory in above sorry people.

The council is allowed in law now to take up this property and they would have all the finance in the world to do it if in this country they compusory purchased all private landlord housing Mysty that has a benefit claimant in, cos they would have a heck of alot more paying tenants then, rather than the cream going to the private landlord.

perhaps the council in reality want a stock transfer of housing to RSL housing assocations, that is one nice house .
The government are giving millions to stop this housing crisis, if that was in wrexcham i would squat it and turn it into a community centre, for like minded folk

Habitat for Humanity would work for this. Make payments to those who built/own the properties, and volunteers/homeowners work to refurbish/repair them. They need repairs if left vacant as it creates rot and mildew from being unheated, windows closed up too long, etc. There can even be corrosion of all the plumbing and electrical. With government waivers, community interest and involvement, this can be done. Would solve many problems except the government's friends want it to go another way....
