    I like it! Fully C# plug-and-use :)

    When will you be able to ship it to France?

    Yes, absolutely. MakerSHED is a launch-day reseller and should be able to ship to you in France. We'll also be adding European resellers in the coming months.

    That's a fairly common misconception. There's a free and open source toolchain for Netduino available courtesy of the Mono team at Novell. Works on Linux, Mac, and Windows. Full details are in the Mono forum over at the Netduino community forums.

    The Mono C# compiler, Microsoft's .NET MF post-processor, the Netduino source, and the entire .NET Micro Framework are all open source using traditional open source licenses.

    Thanks for your open source enthusiasm, axel1973w.

    Thanks :) All I'm saying is although this may be useful for a beginner. I know from the full framework that you should not be using Thread.Sleep() as a means of timing events. Because it actually means to relinquish control to another thread. It is not going to be a very precise method of measuring for delay's for that reason. And there was a good blog post I read about this from another .NET Microsoft MVP that explained about this.

    @TheAceInfinity agreed, I'd rather use a timer.

    Thread.Sleep() for timing the blinking is a poor way of doing it, and a misuse of Thread.Sleep().

    I just bought this, my roommate has the arduino and I bought this one because I've worked with Visual Studios doing C++. Alright thanks for the video, this just showed me how easy it is going to be to program this and debug compared to the arduino.

    The .NET framework is a wonderful library and the Mono team have completely ported it and everything relevant to the Netduino

    Granted... and I can write a significantly faster program to blink LEDs in ASM to run directly on AVR, with less "fluff" in the way. I'm an avid low level microcontroller programmer, and only with reluctance do I use higher level coding. However, I believe there is a market for higher level platforms- certainly when it comes to rapid development and complexity over speed. Your flashing LED benchmark is not a reasonable justification for one platform being any better than another.
