From the 2nd period of the San Jose Sharks-Dallas Stars game on March 17th, 2011, Jamie Langenbrunner hits Niclas Wallin into the boards from behind; the hit goes uncalled and Wallin is shaken up on the play, leading to Dallas' first goal of the game. Shortly thereafter, Douglas Murray lays a hit on Loui Eriksson that left Eriksson shaken up and had coach Marc Crawford hoping the league will review it for possible disciplinary action. Neither Wallin nor Eriksson returned to the game.

  • erikkson ran into a fucking wall!!

  • how can you honestly argue that murray was going for a headshot? this was on nhl on the fly (east coast bias) and they actually thought murray deserved a suspension.

  • @Texan2525 yes its a fucking strategy and no the guy fucking bent over to get the puck and Murray hit him grow a pair and fucking accept that Murray raped Erickson

  • @Texan2525 bro, its ok to turn around in hockey its a strategy to draw a penalty and when the shoulder gets hit in the head its a clean dumb fucking stars fan.

  • Cool :-)

  • Nice :-)

  • @Crazeddddddd its at the ref's discretion. Watch the video again, Langenbrunner goes in for the hit when Wallin is parallel with the glass and starts turning to his right. Right at the last second he turns towards the glass and then gets hit. Its just as much Langenbrunner's responsibility to try to avoid the hit, as it is Wallin's to not make himself vulnerable. Also watch Langenbrunner at :12, he takes the same hit from Braun, but he got his arm up to brace the hit.

  • glad you are so unbiased. 41.1 Boarding – A boarding penalty shall be imposed on any player or goalkeeper who checks an opponent in such a manner that causes the opponent to be thrown violently in the boards. The severity of the penalty, based upon the degree of violence of the impact with the boards, shall be at the discretion of the Referee.

clear penalty and dangerous. that said, Langenbrunner is not a dirty player. nor is Murray.
