Early on in Chuck Jones's animation career he couldn't help but direct cartoons that had a more Silly Symphony feel to them even though they came from Warner Bros., who have a reputation for fast-paced laugh-out-loud cartoons. A few other examples of Jones's cute "Disney-like" cartoons are the ones that starred a mouse named Sniffles.

Thanks for uploading this. One of the greats that every three-four year old should see as a right of passage. It teaches nothing but the love of beauty and life.

I saw this when I was a child and at 45 finally made it to The Netherlands to see a real wind mill. I was enchanted by them because of this cartoon.

I have a cassette full of many of these shorts. I had no idea I was watching Disney material.

Kids will love this short. It's best to show it to them during their pre-schooler years. Kids have to see many things at young age so they can develop love for them. I saw the Fox and the Hound as well as many, many animated Disney films and I grew attached to them, just like every person who saw something he loves at a young age

I disagree. Kids will still watch great animation, it's
the older "man-boys" who produce the crap-action
3D animation of today and foist it off on the younger
generation that are the problem. Kids still know what's
good, they are just not offered it.

But why does Disney...who has a zillion cartoons ready made to offer, decide to withdraw nearly everything and concentrate on Nick toon quality crap?? I fear lil kids do prefer it, the good stuff is too good for them. No more attention spans.
I agree though, this cartoon is amzing.

This was the short that Disney first used the multi-pane camera on before "Snow White"! Classic!! :)
