Interview With Garner Ted Armstrong on John Ankerberg Show

Garner Ted Armstrong (February 9, 1930 - September 15, 2003) was an American evangelist and the son of Herbert W. Armstrong, founder of the Worldwide Church of God, at the time a Sabbatarian organization that taught strict observance of a seventh-day sabbath, holy days typically associated with the Jewish faith, and other observances derived from the Old Testament scriptures.

Armstrong initially became recognized when he succeeded his father as the voice of "The World Tomorrow," the church's radio program that aired around the world. A television program of the same name followed, aired mostly in North America, eventually giving way to a "Garner Ted Armstrong" broadcast, a half-hour program that mixed news and biblical commentary. His polemical message was unlike most other religious broadcasters of his day.

  • I tend to side with Garner Ted. Sounds like he is on the hot seat as Jesus was and the John and the commentator are the pharisees trying to trip Garner Ted up!!! It was stated hereunder earlier that Sodom etc. would fair better than Capernaum if they had heard the gospel. I believe as Ted does that they will get their first real opprotunity at the GREAT WHITE THRONE judgement. How else can one read it but who am I.

By the way, bold evangelism, what are your vices

  • "But I tell you it will be more bearable for Tyre and Sidon than for you (the people of Korazin and BethSaida) on the Day of Judgment! And you, Capernahum, will you be exalted to heaven? No, you will be brought down to the grave (Sheol)! For if the miracles done in you had been done in Sodom, it would still be in existence today. But I tell you that on the Day of Judgment it will be more bearable for the land of Sodom than for you!" Matthew 11:22-24

  • i believe garner teds a good person even though wrong about some of his believes I actually met garner at apreachers meet in rolla

  • @countryvet , Garner is a fallen creature and Jesus died for Garner T. Armstrongs sins and Jesus`s blood cleanses his sin. You are prophetical in the sense of Isaiah 4. Check about how Lucifer wanted to sit on God`s throne(I Will ascend to the throne of the highest), Garners hot seat will be real hot without the true Lamb of God.

  • Who would want to serve the cruel God that Ankerburg depicts. Ankerburg has a very puerile approach to reasoning and interpretation. Because one member of a tribe includes a supreme God in their religion - then that means that they heard of Christ and understand clearly the choice they have to make?

  • I agree with Ankerburg

  • 3 things ruined Teddy-- Gin, Gals, Golf.

  • Ankerberg demonstrates a weak understanding. It is only after resurrection that people will have any inkling of what reality is and what they are dealing with. This world is satan's and they are deceived. God will give all mankind a FIRST opportunity to repent, be baptized, receive the Holy Spirit, and become children of God, just as true Christians are being judged through their lifetimes now. God is merciful and loving, not the torturing monster that satan wants you to think.

  • yea he's confused, good point

  • John Ankerberg thinks uninformed Buddist monks have rejected the gospel (that they never heard of) and yet tribal people are "closer to nature and nature's God"
