Yeh Mike, He was in the hospital with a collapsed lung. The fellas came and visited him and even got him a tenor but he couldnt play it, and passed soon after that.

He was indeed the man. To have the skill and taste to play something beautiful like this, man, it's sorely missed. And what an utter tragedy that an artist of his stature was reduced to that. Yes, god bless America...

Such a great melodic tenorman...this is jazz ballad playing at its finest. Last time I saw him in NYC he was shoeless in the snow, panhandling outside the Village Vanguard. What America does to its finest artists......
