In this series of videos I am documenting that eBay is omitting information in their completed listings. While investigating this deception I found that eBay is entering information that never actually occurred in the sales report. That was during the first four videos. It was in the test I was doing in test 5 that I discovered that eBay is not placing the listings I paid for into the search results.
In this video I perform the same test as I have since test 5 but this time I am interested to see if cookies or user controls are effecting the result (and they are). I do this by not signing into my account and using another browser (Chrome as opposed to FireFox). The result is unbelievable. There is no listing for my username showing in the entire set of results ( 864 results); and,
Yes, I am paying eBay to list this item.
I will do this test again in "eBay completed listing test 9 signed out no result in product search" where I am not signed in to start with. (I use FireFox in test 9) I do the search for the same product using the keywords in the title of the listing to prove the listing is not displaying in the results. Then I sign-in to my account in front of you to take you to my sellers view and look at my active listing to show you there are 8 of these products available for sale.
The procedure for following the test is to remove the cookies eBay places on your computer and then perform the search test.
In the tests sequence I perform two individual test. The second is locating the product in the Completed Listings where the product was sold and is expected
to be found in the Completed Listings. Each time the product fails to show in the completed listings.
I have been able to duplicate these tests time and again by removing the cookies for the search results; and, playing with the cookies has had no effect on the test for the completed listings as if the product does not show, it will not show ever.
I am going to do this test again using the Chrome browser as I have in test 8 only this time I will run through removing the cookies in that browser with you. I will call the video "Do you think your eBay Listings are showing up in the search results?" test 8a. I am writing the new title; so that, the video is searchable in other location of youTube. I will continue to use the name sake 'test #' somewhere in the title to keep track of the order in which the test were produced.

This video is related to a set of video in this series. Those other videos read eBay listings and eBay completed listing.
The must see videos of the set are:

'eBay completed listing test 9d shows buyers view intermittent results in sales search'

This video is nearly the same as the next video. The difference is that all tests in the test 9* series were done in Chrome

and all tests in the test 8* series were done in FireFox.

'eBay completed listing test 8d shows buyers view intermittent results in sales search'

Very interesting is the set :

'eBay completed listing test 8 and 9 shows buyers view " NO " results in sales search'

Then other videos that eBay sellers must see are:

'eBay Completed Listings 37 $3.00 items not in search results'

Tests 7, 6 and 5 you can see progression of the testing procedures and the various results that occur. These videos are shorter than the 8 and 9 sequences. This is a bonus if you do not have much time. You can get a quick overview of the concepts.

Must see are also tests 4, 3, and 2. These are more specific to the question written in the title; and, those videos are shorter.

Be sure to subscribe; so that, as I post more videos you will see the new content and see interesting topics here. I have releases on computer topics that are very interesting coming up. Topics, on the internet in 1969. Yes, I say there was a functioning internet in 1969. Also, I am going to show you PayPal scammers and how to recognise a spearFish with an actual attempt that was tried on me. One topic I will cover is how to speed up your internet searches by avoiding opening results that will waste your time. So, again, subscribe and check it out.

  • I have the same problem with my products. They are not shown in any search result. Neither signed in/out nor using differnent browsers. Even my friends are not able to find my products from different computers AND different countries. This is definitively not a mistake of the user as the support wants to let me think.

Did you get any solution for this problem? What can one do after checking everything is okay with the offers?

  • I forgot to mention that my product is active for 9 days today - without being listed.

  • @schisch007 About the Screen Casting software, you can go to Wikipedia and search "comparison of screencasting software" and it will take you to a wonderful page where you will be able to easily make a decision about what screencasting software you would like to have. Just copy and paste the terms in the quotes.

  • @schisch007 I really appreciate your taking the time to leave a comment. I think this is not as well known as it should be. eBay does this to way more people than anyone could believe. It is not so well known because no one expects it to be happening and so they are not looking. If you can make the screen recording and copy my guide lines then post it this would become more in the open as two channels are better then one to broadcast the deception from eBay.

Hi, I am deeply sorry of giving wrong information. I have found the reason why I am not seeing my offers. I am in Germany currently, offering products from Swiss to Swiss only. I thought, it would be possible to see my products when setting the filters within ebay.ch to "Swiss only senders" or searching for my username. But this doesn't work with foreign ip numbers. After using a proxy server from Swiss, I could see my products in the search result. Sorry, I was not aware of it.

  • @schisch007 That is great to understand.I have planned to use proxies across the US to check on my listings in the other zones eBay broadcasts to.I have noticed sellers in the mid-west selling the same product more successfully to others in the mid-west even though I sell for a lesser price. Doesn't make since unless my listings are not being seen in the mid-west as often as they should. But, yes, I have noticed the proxy difference and have friends check for me with the same no show results.

  • Also, cookies in FireFox are predominant and will be active whether you are signed in or not and whether you have been in session or are just starting your computer. The point of this observation is to help you understand your tests; but, do not over look the fact that eBay is manipulating the search results and that you do not have full eBay sever access to the data they seem to claim in a description like "Completed Listings".

  • You can note that in Chrome the cookies act like sessions cookies and are only there once the listing is found by any long key search; but, if you turn your computer off and restart it those cookies are gone. Also, the cookies in Chrome are active only inside the user's account view and not active when searching without signing in.
