The weather man had predicted rain, but I watched weather radars during the night and saw a clearing moving onto the Long Beach Peninsular from the Pacific--not much of one but, hopefully, enough to allow me to capture October's full moon as it set over the beaches of Southwestern Washington. My good fortune held and I recorded 45 minutes of video without so much as a drop of rain. I have pared the file down to 30 minutes by eliminating segments when the moon was entirely hidden by clouds. The video quality leaves much to be desired, but the overwhelming impression of untamed beauty and unfettered wildness on that predawn beach was so great for me that I have decided to share the experience. Almost two hours of solitude on a Washington beach in the presence of a full moon, surf sounds, and only the flight of an occasional early rising gull constituted a spiritual experience for me. I would recommend such to any seeker of peace. -- D. Grant Haynes
WOW.....yes I can see how this would have been a spirtual experience for any peace-seeking person. To watch the full moon set pre-dawn over the ocean, is an experience that can only be had by persons living on the west coast of any of the continents, I suppose. You are blessed to live in such a beautiful place that allows experiences like this. It is certainly something I have never seen!
