@lovewillfly2sky: Only Poulenc can be like Poulenc and touch you deep in your heart. Your 'fault' if you only desovered him recently, but you are still young. Listen: Poulenc opened my mind for the WHOLE modern classical music of the 20th century, maybe that happens to you too now ... ;-))

Francis Poulenc (1899-1963) was a French composer, who belonged to the group of composers known as "Les Six" (which included the likes of Auric and Milhaud). They are generally seen as representing an "counter-Wagner"/"counter-impressionism" current.
If you like this, you should definitely check out his other works - especially his chamber works which tend to be in the same vein as this one
