For this video I used methods I learned from 4 different tutorials. I used advanced tracking from Video Copilot's Set Extension tutorial; Sky Replacement (sort of) from Video Copilot's Advanced Sky Replacement; Droplets on the lens from Video Copilot's Water Drops; and finally Weather Replacement from Creative Cow's Weather Replacement in AE.

Overall I think the shot turned out pretty well considering the source film was a little too bright in some areas and a little too dark in others.

I used sounds from Bethesda Softwork's Oblivion. Sounds used are Rainstorm, Wind, Thunder Distant, and Thunder.

This is version 1 of this shot, I'll be redoing it later, I just wanted to get something rendered and uploaded. In the updated version I'll fix some issues with how I did the sky replacement to make that look better.

  • The rain hitting the screen; was that stock footage or was that created by you.

  • @Flamez0nFire It was created by me. I just created a copy of the main conposition and applied a Mr. Mercury effect to it. The copy had to be flipped upside down though because that's what happens with the light is reflected through a raindrop.

  • I know you got this from Video Copilot, but could you do a tutorial?

  • @iBotzProductions I didn't get this from VCP, I used multiple different techniques that I learned from watching tutorials from VCP, CreativeCow, and various other places. And if you read the comments you'll know that I've said I'd like to do a tutorial, I just need to iron out some issues with some of my techniques.

  • @ClanInfectionist I know you didnt get this from VCP, but you watch the techniques and applied them. Sorry about not reading the comments, my iPhone would not display them :P

  • @iBotzProductions It's cool, it happens. My Droid doesn't like to display them either. Yeah, pretty much I just watched a bunch of tutorials and learned as much as I could, then applied the techniques that I learned to make this. I could have done it better, but I like it and I just don't have the time to go back to it right now.
