What did you use for the sand?

I used graham crakers.I crushed it up to make it look like sand.

you know you could've made some gray icing and iced the little seat to look like a rock for your mermaid to sit on :)

Brown sugar looks pretty, but beware, once it sits out for about an hour it forms one rock-hard piece and breaks instead of cutting smoothly.
