This is how you can remove your factory stereo, so that you can install an aftermarket one and not have to pay anyone. FYI you will need to buy two things to make this work and that is the "In dash stereo kit by Metra or Scosche as well as the wiring harness by either company. Good luck

  • Hi, I have a Sentra and i've figured all that out, but I have one problem now. I can't get my storage compartment thing to go back where it came from. It just doesn't want to click back into place. Any tips on that part anyone? Thanks

  • @Gabinni

Hey there so you can't get your compartment piece back in ok. Well what you have to do is try your best to snap it back on, it only goes on one way so you may have to just find the right spot for it to snap in. I'm not sure if this is going to help you or not but just be patient and you should get it. I do know that the plastic tabs on everything here are very weak and the possibility of breaking one off is possible so be careful.

  • Hey ElRey sorry to hear about your stereo issue. I'm not sure I fully understand your question though. Sounds to me like your having trouble listening to a burned cd. If so then you might just want to put in an aftermarket stereo in. I would say 99.9% of the aftermarket stereo's out there will play anything burned so check your budget and see whats out there. FYI I have a JVC that just kicks butt. Good luck

  • FYI The In-Dash stereo kit is model number 99-7414 and the Wiring Harness is 70-7551

The Scosche wiring harness model number NN03RB

Either wiring harness will come with two

Check your factory service manual for how to splice the harness together.

  • Thanks for the video. It would have taken me a LONG time to figure this out on my own.

  • @CaliNyc18 might have blown your fuses. check the fuses in the front of the car near the battery and there is another fuse holder in the coin compartment on the left of the steering wheel towards the bottom

  • worked fine except I needed a special tool to swap out the CD player radio for a CD player with an AUX jack. Trip to the auto parts store to get the right tool and I'm good :)
