My daughter owns a 2008 Grand Vitara and she loves it. I've driven it and I am thinking about buying one myself. It's very solid and drives great.

Suzuki make some really good cars as of late. I got a 2004/5 model Grand Vitara XL7 and it is the most reliable and fun car i have ever had. its heavy and feels safe with plenty of power. love it.

considering getting a 2008/9 model now as a second car.

How silly! All cars can be towed without accunulating miles.

Just put it in nutural and the main drive system is disengaged. On modern vehilcles the milage is only recorded when the key is in and the electrical system is activated. The milage is stored in flash memory chips in the (PCM).

I would recomend the ford escape, we had a 2008 3.0 4x4 and it was great, nice interior, looks good, made it easily through the minnesota winters, and carrying our hunting gear out through an unplowed farm while it was muddy. Great suv, best in it's class imo.
