What about the idea that multiple sclerosis is caused not by an autoimmune attack but by infectious with cell wall deficient bacteria? Would the same rationale hold true?

Great question. Regardless of cause, we do know the effect is the same...Th1 mediated immunity...mesenchymal stem cells block Th1 immunity...by the way, university of Cambridge is actually doing trials now on mesenchymal stem cells for multiple sclerosis. Look it up on clinicaltrialsdotgov
