Barack Hussein Obama meets with Venezuelan Marxist President Hugo Chavez.
At President Obama's meeting with the heads of South American countries this morning, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez stood, walked over to him, and presented him with a copy of "Open Veins of Latin America: Five Centuries of the Pillage of a Continent" by Uruguayan author Eduardo Galeano.
Obama politely posed for a photograph with Chavez, shook his hand, and accepted the gift.
The book, first published in Spanish in 1971, offers a critique of the consequences of 500 years of European and U.S. colonization of Latin America.
"The division of labor among nations is that some specialize in winning and others in losing," the book begins. "Our part of the world, known today as Latin America, was precocious: it has specialized in losing ever since those remote times when Renaissance Europeans ventured across the ocean and buried their teeth in the throats of the Indian civilizations. Centuries passed, and Latin America perfected its role."
Obama is hanging with Chavez and company this weekend to seek a new beginning with Cuba.
consultation: Hugo hates him now.so this means nothing

@starkersboy , Obama would never, ever think of cutting off military aid to israel. There's a huge israel lobby in DC called AIPAC and they are all liberal democrats. AIPAC funded Obama's campaign and Barry surrounds himself with jews like Axelrod, Emanuel, Krugman and Reich. He's actually our 1st jewish president with a black face. They control his puppet strings.

haha the only dogmatic here beloings to u. It's obvious that u have never seen what neoliberal policies have caused to south america. Another falacy is that liberalism is imposed freely. There is no country in sout america where dictatorships supporting the free market economies (and sometimes imposing it 4 the first time)n have been supported by the us embassy

@starkersboy you don't understand though that Hamas and Al Qaeda would see that as a victory. That would further their resolve to destroy Israel. It's not like they are to see that as a peace offering.

They're kindred revolutionary spirits smart enough to recite dogma and rhetoric but incapable of understanding the complexities of free-market-economics and it's historic impact on world hunger, poverty and general advancements on standards of living where ever it is applied. It's amazing how the left seems capable of grasping biological evolutionary processes but seems to have a harder time with economic evolutionary adaptations and how societies benefit from them.
