Rough Cut: Self Edge, San Francisco. New Projects

For our next installation of Rough Cut we visit Self Edge in San Francisco where owner Kiya Babzani introduces us to the shop and takes us thru a few new projects.

Specializing in Japanese denim made in the traditional manner on looms from the 50s Self Edge offers brands only known to true denim connoisseurs. Kiya shares his inspiration and motivation, thoughts on traditional apparel craft and a look at some upcoming product. Included in the Fall line-up is the SEXTW07 Self Edge x Triple Works collaboration and new cuts from Iron Heart. We also glimpse the Self Edge x Flat Head chambray shirt made in a short run for a recent party.

On the artistic side of denim appreciation is Sidney Lo's recently completed 365-days-in-the-same-Flathead-jeans self portrait series, What Are You Wearing Today? which is installed in the front window of Self Edge

yeah this place is the bomb. I have been rocking naked and famous and APC's, but i'm sure they dont compare to the really high end selvedge like Iron Heart, Samurai, or Flathead. Its expensive, but if you like quality stuff, you gotta pay for it, like anything in life.
