  • So you want to draw attention to the fact that rape isn't caused by the way people are dressed...by dressing like sluts. You've proven nothing. It does nothing to address the root causes of rape. It's a distraction, a sideshow, meaningless, counterproductive. That's using your own logic, too.

  • @jlassie If you'd actually looked into the effects that the slut walk has had, you'd know that it's changed many people's attitudes towards the causes of rape and has served as an informative movement that draws attention to the idea that your clothes do not affect your chances for being raped. Unless you can show how this movement has done nothing, you can fuck off, asshole.

  • I didn't intend to upset you to the point of tears, I honestly didn't. I agree that no woman, or man for that matter, asks to be raped. That is a given. With that said, I still stand by my beliefs that women should have the sense to not draw negative attention to themselves. I'll argue my position with any Ivy league pundit all day.

  • @DPL101 Oh, and also -- YOU are not what made me cry. I thought I made it very clear that my struggle with a family member's RAPE made me cry. It is not only arrogant for you to say something like that (as if YOU would ever be able to get a tear out of me), but incredibly disrespectful. You are skating on very thin ice here, pal. Watch it if you don't want to get blocked.

  • @SickMouth You don't get it. You just don't get it.

  • @DPL101 Explain how I don't get it. Where did you get the idea that I was crying in this video because of anything *you* said or did? And you still haven't responded to the psychological evidence I provided that conflicts with your claim.

  • I just want to say that it really is unfortunate what happened to your family member, the slutty dress fallacy that you addressed needs to end. It's sad that in the show "All in the Family" in the 1970's they knew it wasn't true but in today's society some people still think it. In the show Gloria says "Rape isn't about sex, it's about power." It was a very enlightening show that everyone should watch and I think you would enjoy it as it is still controversial today.

  • @SickMouth Check your inbox. This thread won't let me post.

  • @DPL101 If by "Ivy League pundit," you are referring to the evidence I used to support my argument which you can find in the link in the description box, then you are in denial of reality. Clothing may draw "negative attention" from bigots and prudes, but it DOES NOT CAUSE RAPE. The Yale University psychology department proves it.
