A chance to revisit the atmospheric island setting of the last great PC-exclusive classic, Crysis, with maximum visual settings and Delta difficulty level.

Released in November 2007, Crysis still sets the standard for other PC games in terms of graphics and gameplay. Almost every type of advanced visual and physics effect is available in the game. Similarly, the enemy AI, the weapons, the interactivity with the game world, and the nanosuit itself, along with a whole range of small touches mean that no two playthroughs are ever the same.

Only now in 2010 do most people have the hardware to truly appreciate this game with decent visuals, and indeed only with the latest generation cards can we run the game at maximum settings smoothly, with even a bit of antialiasing thrown in to boot while keeping very playable framerates.

Retail version of Crysis is used with 1.2.1 Patch, Delta difficulty level, running in DX10 at 1920x1200, all settings to maximum (Very High), and 4x Antialiasing applied within the game.

No mods have been added to the game. The only additional tweaks used in my System.cfg file are:

con_restricted=0
r_texturesstreaming=0
r_TexMaxAnisotropy=16

Along with +r_width 1920 +r_height 1200 +r_fullscreen 1 in the launch icon's command line to force 1920x1200 fullscreen resolution upon launch.

  • I put this video on fullscreen and pretend I'm playing it because I know my PC will never be able to play it.

  • @Genmills The "Crysis 1 is better than Crysis 2" argument isnt really about graphics mate, its about the gameplay. Crysis 2 was a very linear experience, where Crysis 1 was not.

  • i can't believe this game is 5 years old, it still looks amazing, graphic-wise.

  • @DarkMilitia17 first one for gameplay or second one for graphics I prefer gameplay in anygame than graphics

  • i mplanning on buying either the first or the second. which one would you guys recommend?

  • @MrAmericanidiot1995 They are both really fun. Crysis 2 is newer and has new stuff, but is also a bit linear. Crysis 1 is in many ways better. If you can, get both.

  • Watching this video gave me that thrill/chill in my stomach, and that my friends is what games are meant to do. Take you on an adventure. A thrill ride. Most games don't accomplish this anymore. But Crysis does. And mind you, that is only from WATCHING it, and not even playing. : )

  • IMagine having that suit in real life .. damn

  • @MrAmericanidiot1995 get 2 of them

  • @MrAmericanidiot1995 get crysis crysis 2 is bad, also build a pc if your going to start pc gaming although asus does good gaming laptops you could build a 5x better desktop pc for the money.
