i'm sure it is a great place and luckily you can afford to take your kids there.

That's based on 98% of people that could afford to go and visit - most of who were likely foreign tourists.
Sorry, but there's familys out there that can ill afford £50 to visit the docks and are being denied the countrys history which was built on such class of people
Charge tourists if you wish but access should be free to british passport holders as a birthright
Blood, guts and taxes of my ancestors paid for those ships 10 times over yet to visit you desire an arm and a leg

can someone tell me WHY the publics lottery fund keep getting thrown at these ships and then they go and charge a fortune for the public to go and visit them ?
This is OUR heritage. The entrance should be FREE. They are STEALING OUR LOTTERY MONEY

In a recent web survey, 98% of visitors thought the ticket price was good or very good value.
Getting grants through the Heritage Lottery Fund - and attracting as many visitors as possible - is the only way we can secure the long-term future of the historic ships and museums. We are an island nation and it's essential that we celebrate all that stands for. Collections like the Mary Rose do not receive any government support and the Heritage Lottery Fund is only for heritage projects.
