How quickly we change directions. The snowball had begun prior to election. We are seeing the fall out from what had begun 8 yrs ago and the fickle people infer that it has just begun. No one was complaining when the last administration handed out money to . We No one complained when industry was farmed out to other countries in the name of profits limiting the job market for us. Now that the haves are being effected, the problem just begins. Spending by any other name is still spending.

As far as roads and bridges not being made soon, you're absolutely right, but economists such a Paul Krugman (yes, a liberal) predict that this recession is going to last a really long time, and that therefore projects that will only take effect in a long time are still very important for future stimulus.

But on the other hand, even if this is going to "liberal" programs (I'm assuming that for example green energy would be qualified as liberal) what is the problem with that? As long as the money is being properly invested and not just given to the top, it will create jobs and help the economy. The fact that it is liberal is irrelevant.
