456% Renewable!

In the U.S., we have an abundance of natural resources that we can use to reach 100% renewable energy, although many still insist we will continue to need coal, nuclear, oil, and gas. Why? Our renewable energy resources could produce 4 1/2 times as much electricity as this country uses, if we wanted to make it happen. Our politicians need to embrace the future of renewable energy!

I live in Dallas and my electric provider is Reliant Energy. They have a 100% wind energy plan that is offered. I signed a contract and am paying 12 cents/KW hour, which is less than people are paying for their coal energy at 17 cents/KW hour. Cheaper and better for the environment. Why hasen't everyone switched over yet?!

In central Massachusetts we have a choice of paying an additional 2-cent KW/hr premium for getting the 100% green electricity. I figure it's the utility's way of offering a green choice in a way that guarantees that most people won't actually do it, you know "well, we tried but there just wasn't any interest.."

They tried to do that too with the electric cars in "Who killed the electric car" movie. Damn oil feens!

That comes up to about $10-30 more for me! But rates here without the wind plan are 15-17 cents Kwh.

My plan renews soon, so I hope I can stay at 12.8 cents for a while. Texas has a BUNCH of wind turbines being put in the pan handle. I heard they were trying to put in enough to provide energy for every major city in TX. I have seen trucks transporting them. thought they were plane wings.
